The Director of the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU), Keith Prior, has offered the organisation’s condolences and praised the excellent work of the emergency services following the tragic helicopter crash in Glasgow last night (Friday 29 November 2013).
Said Mr Prior: “All of the people affected by this tragic incident in Glasgow are in the thoughts of all NARU staff, and we send our heartfelt condolences. By all accounts the rapid and joined-up response by the emergency services in Glasgow has been first-rate. Obviously we know the Scottish Ambulance Service well – especially their SORT teams which are the equivalent of our Hazardous Area Response Teams response – and we know what a difficult time this will be for them as the search and rescue operation continues. We wish our colleagues all the very best as they help the people of Glasgow deal with this terrible incident.”
